Secretions is an installation that was presented in a semi-public space within School of Visual Arts. The installation consisted of a clothing line made up of common garments with stains and a vile of semen. In creating this installation, I was exploring ideas behind the perceived uncleanliness of sex, and how it was addressed when brought into a semi-public space, under the spectacle eye. To push these ideas further, I set up the installation in the entry way to a high traffic space within the school.
In order to better understand and observe the audiences reactions, I gathered security footage of the space and am currently working on a new piece that incorporates the security footage, and serves as documentation of the Secretions installation as well as a continuation of it.
